2021 Petersburg Community Foundation Grant Recipient – Petersburg Medical Center Petersburg Medical Center receives $1,350 for early childhood/childcare community assessment

Happy Syttende Mai!

The 2021 Petersburg Community Foundation grant cycle is closed, and we have awarded $24,175.00 to our local nonprofits. Awarding grants always feels good, and PCF wants to share this success.

Grantee project highlight: Petersburg Medical Center receives $1,350

Prior to the issues caused by COVID, Petersburg parents and providers have been facing long-term issues related to childcare, which includes high costs, disproportionately low pay for childcare providers, and high staff turn-over. While childcare providers have received emergency funding to help recoup costs of closures and remain open during the pandemic, this project aims to look beyond COVID to address the specific childcare issues in Petersburg that were there before COVID. PMC is looking for community participation, and in turn will be providing information to work toward a solution.
