Happy Syttende Mai! Here is another milestone in Petersburg’s COVID story, as we look at pictures of past Little Norway festivals and think about what could have been with the sunshine this weekend.
Sunday would have been the day to meet, greet, eat and celebrate the collective ability to provide financial support to nonprofits in our community during our annual donor event. We will do so on the other side of the COVID pandemic.

Grant Making
In the absence of a get together, the PCF board wants to share with you what we have been doing with grants and the endowment fund:
- In March: $5,000 in basic needs grants were distributed to WAVE, the Salvation Army food pantry and Mountain View Manor.
- In April: The $25,000 competitive grant cycle was postponed to allow PCF to shore up charitable organizations during the COVID crisis. PCF is currently accepting letters of request for emergency grants from this pool of funds.
- In May: $10,000 in discretionary grants was provided to six organizations in Petersburg who are involved in frontline services during the COVID response.
- Mountain View Manor Food Services received funding to support the 5 days/week food delivery service to seniors
- Salvation Army received funding for the home placement program
- Petersburg Indian Association received funding for food vouchers for tribal members
- Lighthouse Assembly of God received funding to support the Monday evening meals prepared by volunteers demand has doubled for dinners
- Petersburg Mental Health Services received funding for the food pantry and hygiene/cleaning supplies
- Petersburg Children Center received funding to cover liability insurance and utility expenses during the closure
Thank you!
PCF wants to thank you for your support over the years. Truly, your donations have helped build the endowment fund to the point where roughly $30,000 is available each year to grant to charitable organizations in our community.
