Petersburg Indian Association, in partnership with Trading Union, has begun the Milk Distribution Program that provides low income households with milk. With a grant from the Petersburg Community Foundation, PIA purchased a commercial refrigerator to store the milk until staff is schedule to make the milk deliveries. With the addition of the refrigerator, PIA hopes to grow the Milk Program and eventually be able to start a food bank that provides more perishable foods to the entire low income community of Petersburg. Donations of gallons of milk that have not sold within a week of the sell-by date are provided by Trading Union and Hammer & Wikan.
