2023 Petersburg Community Foundation Grants awarded to Petersburg Non-profits

Petersburg, ALASKA – The Petersburg Community Foundation (PCF), an Affiliate of the Alaska Community Foundation (ACF), is pleased to announce grants awarded to local Petersburg nonprofits.


The Petersburg Community Foundation awarded $28,338 in grants to community nonprofits that care for Petersburg families and individuals.

The following organizations received grants:

  • Petersburg Medical Center – for training community members to support youth mental health.
  • Humanity in Progress – to support community members in need of food or financial assistance for housing or utilities.
  • Girl Scouts of Alaska – to fund a 5-day summer camp in 2023.
  • Narrows Broadcasting Corporation – to assist in the upkeep of the building and grounds.
  • Petersburg Marine Mammal Center – to purchase equipment that will enable them to livestream all Science Series presentations.
  • Petersburg Rainforest Festival – to fund a self-guided audio walking tour of Petersburg.
  • Petersburg Sons of Norway Hall – to bring the building up to fire code by replacing sprinkler heads and relocating fire pulls.
  • Petersburg Arts Council – to purchase small venue light and sound equipment.

All grants were made possible through the generous support of our donors, and from the Alaska Community Foundation and Rasmuson Foundation, with local direction from the Petersburg Community Foundation.
